Year 12 students can apply to be considered for an early entry offer based on their Year 11 academic performance and demonstration of initiative through sport, volunteering, part-time work, leadership roles, or personal development activities.

In order for you to be successful in your application, MACQ has guidance located here. Please check eligibility details and understand the academic/leadership requirements and the application process. Once an application has been submitted, it cannot be changed.

Early offers at the University of Tasmania: 

The Schools Recommendation Program offers Year 12 students the chance to receive an early offer for a place at university, providing peace of mind and the freedom to focus on finishing your studies. An open day for their Sydney campus is on Sunday, the 26th of July. Registration can be found HERE

ACU Guarantee for Year 12 at ACU 

Opens on 20 July and closes on 14 September.  The ACU Guarantee is designed to help Year 12 students secure a place at ACU before they sit their final exams. 

Successful applicants must still complete their Year 12 exams, but they can do so secure in the knowledge that their Year 11 results meet our entry requirements. Students can also enhance their selection rank by including short personal statements giving us insight into their personal circumstances and motivation for university study.

Future Creators' Day is a hands-on experience for Year 10 and 11 students passionate about creativity, design, and visual storytelling. Hosted by UNSW Arts, Design & Architecture, this event is the perfect opportunity to explore future study and career paths in the creative industries. Join us on campus for a day of immersive workshops led by expert academics and industry professionals. Get a taste of our newly offered game design specialisation, along with workshops in animation, game art, jewelry, painting, textiles & fashion design, experience design, object design, and graphic design.

NSW Mining: Careers in Mining   At the heart of this new website is the interactive Adventure Finder—a fun, quiz-style tool that helps students match their interests, strengths and subjects with careers in mining. Whether they're interested in science, technology, engineering, the environment, or hands-on trades, the Adventure Finder introduces students to careers they may never have considered and provides tailored pathways to explore further.

These practical resources support conversations about STEM, future skills, and the wide range of career pathways available in the modern resources sector.

AIE Film Production Day—Friday, 10 July, 10 am-4 pm, 33 Mountain St, Ultimo 

Learn what it takes to plan and produce a film shoot in this intensive film production workshop. You will get hands-on with cameras, lighting, and the latest in virtual production LED screens. Industry-experienced filmmakers will guide you through the various stages of production.

In this workshop, we will fast-track the film production process by choosing one scene and taking it through the pipeline from idea to finished shots. As part of this process, participants will be leveraging virtual production sets! This is an exclusive opportunity to learn more about this revolutionary technology, which is empowering filmmakers.

This workshop is suited to participants aged 16+ who are interested in starting their careers in film.

ICMS- The Marketing Lab: From Hashtag to Headline – Tuesday 7th July 2026

Students will explore the world of marketing and brand strategy through a series of interactive activities focused on consumer behaviour, value propositions, and campaign development. This workshop gives students the chance to experience multiple areas of information technology, including cybersecurity, data analytics, information systems and AI-assisted coding. Participants will hear directly from industry professionals and ICMS alumni while gaining valuable insights into careers in sports management, marketing, and events. Essay Submission: The Simpson Prize Due 5 November

The Simpson Prize is a national competition for Year 9 and 10 students, which focuses on the service of Australians in World War One and World War Two. The essay focus for 2027 is

 'How useful are artefacts and artwork as historical sources when researching the experience of Australians who served in either the First World War or Second World War?’
Discuss with reference to either WW1 or WW2. 

The 16 winners and runners-up, two from each state and territory, will travel to Canberra to participate in a 3-day study program in March 2026. The results of the 2026 Simpson Prize will be available on this website at the conclusion of the Canberra Study Program. In April, the 8 winners will travel to an overseas destination for an extensive commemorative study tour culminating in Anzac Day ceremonies at that location.

USYD Scholarships for Young Women

Applications close 1 October. The Women’s College offers several scholarships for resident students. These are awarded on the basis of a combination of academic potential and financial need. Scholarships are available, for example, to students from the following: 

• Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds 

• Students studying performance at the Conservatorium of Music. 

Music scholarship auditions will take place in early December, and applicants will be advised of the audition date closer to the time. Students seeking consideration for a residential scholarship must first complete the residency application.
